Dr. Knackendoffel is a faculty member at Kansas State University in the Department of Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs, where she teaches within the special education program. Prior to her faculty position at K-State, Dr. Knackendoffel has held positions as a special education teacher, educational consultant, curriculum developer, and research assistant. Her academic and research interests include teacher collaborative consultation in special education, collaborative problem solving, paraeducators, special education teacher preparation and special education technology. Dr. Knackendoffel recently co-authored a leading textbook in the area of special education consultation and collaboration and is lead author of a collaborative problem-solving book. She has served on the review board for the Intervention in School and Clinic journal for several years.
Dr. Knackendoffel is a member of the University Faculty Senate, and serves on numerous University and College committees such as the Faculty Senate Committee on Technology, Faculty Senate College of Education Caucus Chair, former chair of the College of Education Student Affairs Committee, current chair of the College of Education Technology Committee and a member of the College of Education Dean’s Program Coordinating Committee.
