Old Dominion University is hiring for a hybrid learning specialist and advisor position. The position will primarily focus on learning specialist responsibilities but will also advise up to 2 Olympic sports. In addition to advising responsibilities, this position will provide individualized academic support to at-risk students from all sports, collaborate with other advisors to best support student-athletes, and work with the Director of Educational Support Services to create and facilitate programs and services. Candidates should have previous experience providing educational support in some format (such as teaching, special education, learning specialist, etc). Candidates should have a completed master’s degree in education or a related field or a bachelor’s degree with experience equivalent to a master’s degree. Candidates should be knowledgeable about learning disorders and accommodations. Candidates should have considerable knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
