Student-Athlete Development Post Graduate Intern

Kansas State University Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a Student-Athlete Development Post Graduate Intern, which is a temporary, full-time, benefits-eligible position for up to 24 months.

An example of job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:

•Responsible for the planning and execution of community service opportunities, which include maintaining and updating the HelperHelper App. Support the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), including assisting with all SAAC community service projects, Wildcat Cup and Powercat Choice Awards

•Assist in all student-Athlete Development Programs and other educational sessions; serve as a career advisor for certain sport teams and assist with identifying programming needs for individuals or teams; serve as a member of the Athletic Departments Diversity & Inclusion Leadership team

•Participate in recruitment of prospective student athletes, including education to both prospects and their families on the various Student-Athlete Development programming opportunities

•Assist with various staff and student-athlete raining sessions (i.e. GA Bootcamp, Summer Bridge program, New SA Orientations, EDCEP111 University Experience Course, etc.); participate in professional development opportunities where applicable

Minimum Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s Degree at time of application in Sport Management, Student Development or related field

·       Minimum one to two years experience in intercollegiate athletics and direct work with a culturally diverse student-athlete population

·       Strong leadership capabilities

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills

·       Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and analytical skills

·       Working knowledge of NCAA eligibility bylaws

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Previous experience in student-athlete development programs or career counseling with student-athletes.  Such as community services, personal development and leadership initiatives, career counseling of student athletes

·       Master’s degree in Sports Administration, student development or related field in education or academic principles

Other Requirements:

·       Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

·       Must be able to work evenings and weekends
