Fall Commencement Day Activities

Time has whizzed by and the semester is quickly coming to an end. Congratulations on nearly completing your degree. The Graduate School Commencement Ceremony is Friday, December 13 at 1 pm in Manhattan, Kansas. There are a number of events planned for the day. 
Please let Pam McGlynn know if you plan to attend any of the following events. Note some of these will have separate invitations and require you to RSVP to the organization extending the invitation.

College of Education Graduate Brunch              10:30 a.m. to Noon
Manhattan Country Club
1531 N. 10th
Manhattan, Kansas

Reservations required. A formal invitation will follow from the College of Education. Free for graduates, $15 for guests. RSVP to Pam Monroe pmonroe@ksu.edu
 
Graduate School Commencement Ceremony           1 pm
Bramlage Coliseum

Bramlage Coliseum is located at the corner of Kimball Ave and College Ave. It is next to the Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium. There is a large parking lot in front of the building. Public parking will be permitted in all general, student, faculty, and staff parking lots during commencement weekend. However, parking in any reserved space is still restricted to permit holders.
 
Master’s candidates participating in commencement exercises must wear a master’s cap, gown, hood and tassel. Master’s regalia differs from bachelor’s regalia and can be purchased through the K-State Campus Store or online at  http://www.cbgrad.comThe Academic Advising degree is a Master in Science in Academic Advising. Master of Science degree graduates wear a golden yellow hood.

Global Campus Graduation Celebration      4 pm to 5:30 pm
Alumni Center

Manhattan, Kansas
 
All students who have applied for Fall graduation are invited to an on-campus reception to celebrate graduation. Students’ families are also invited. The celebration will take place Friday, December 13, at 4 p.m. at the Alumni Center. A formal invitation will follow from Global Campus. RSVP to globalalumni@ksu.edu
Please note that if you do plan to come to Manhattan, it is important to make hotel reservations as early as possible. Virtual Commencement
A virtual commencement ceremony Web site will be available for distance education degree candidates unable to attend their K-State commencement ceremony in person. The website includes a listing of students earning degrees through distance education, a place for family and friends to post congratulatory messages to their graduate, a commencement address, music and other commencement-related offerings. If you have any questions, please contact me.
