Rich Robbins, Associate Dean of Arts & Sciences, Bucknell University, and a professor in the Kansas State University Academic Advising Graduate Program, received NACADA’s 2013 Virginia N. Gordon Award for Excellence in the Field of Advising.
The Virginia N. Gordon Award for Excellence in the Field of Advising is annually presented to a NACADA member who has made significant contributions to the field of academic advising. Dr. Robbins received a plaque and was honored at the Awards Ceremony held during NACADA’s Annual Conference in Salt Lake City, October 6-9, 2013.
Dr. Robbins has been working in the field of advising since 1996. He has developed academic advising programs as two separate institutions and headed advising programs at four institutions. Dr. Robbins has made over 130 presentations at professional conferences and written numerous book reviews and articles. He has served on many NACADA committees and is co-editor of the peer-reviewed NACADA Journal. Dr. Robbins has received numerous NACADA awards over the years, including the 2011 Service to NACADA award.
