in 26 Random Acts of Kindness in honor of the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary.

Here are some ideas to get you started …

1. Compliment a stranger
2. Give up your seat for someone
3. Volunteer – anywhere – even if you only have a short time
4. Be polite online
5. Hold the door open for someone
6. Write a letter to someone who made a difference
7. Let someone go in front of you in line
8. Clean up after yourself
9. Share a snack
10. Smile at others
11. Help someone load or unload groceries
12. Pay the tab for the person behind you
13. Thank your parents
14. Lend something to someone – then tell them to keep it
15. Leave extra money in a vending machine
16. Help someone with yardwork
17. Be polite on the road
18. Bake cookies for a neighbor you’ve never met
19. Donate used books to a library
20. Give someone a hug
21. Pick up trash
22. Be a designated driver
23. Be kind to someone you dislike
24. Leave a “You’re awesome” note on someone’s desk
25. Be a friend who listens
26. Read to a child
