Tutorial on APA Style

APA style (6th ed.) should be used in the presentation of the Academic Advising portfolio. There are a number of resources to help understand APA. One of them is the Basics of APA Style, a web-based slide presentation that also includes voice over. It does a good job of explaining APA formatting. The tutorial is designed for those who have no previous knowledge of APA Style. It shows users how to structure and format their work, recommends ways to reduce bias in language, identifies how to avoid charges of plagiarism, shows how to cite references in text, and provides selected reference examples. http://flash1r.apa.org/apastyle/basics/index.htm Also check out the Online Writing Lab at Purdue University. http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/
